Burley Foods Adds Marukan Vinegar

Burley Foods is pleased to announce an agreement to represent Marukan Vinegar.  Their slow-brewed artisan process provides a superior flavor with a mellower note than other rice vinegars. 

The quality of their product is demonstrated by the number of world-class chefs who choose Marukan’s rice vinegar for use in their restaurants – establishments that include Spago, Trader Vic’s, and the Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill.  In fact, Marukan is the official purveyor of vinegar products to the Imperial Court of Japan.

Marukan supplies vinegars to the retail, food service and industrial markets.  Industrial products include:

- 43 Grain Rice Vinegar

- 50 Grain Rice Vinegar

- 90 Grain Rice Vinegar

- 100 Grain Rice Vinegar

- Seasoned Gourmet Rice Vinegar

- Organic Rice Vinegar (90 Grain)

- Organic Seasoned Gourmet Vinegar

- Misho Blended Vinegar (a blend of rice and distilled vinegar)

The Marukan Vinegar Company has been brewing natural rice vinegars in Japan for over 360 years and has a USA subsidiary in Paramount, CA that uses the same time-proven brewing techniques.  It is currently managed by the 11th generation of the family that founded the company in 1649.  Sources show Marukan is one of the oldest companies in the world still in operation.

While there are currently three methods of producing vinegar, Marukan prefers to use the more traditional method in brewing its authentic rice vinegars – the Japanese or Orleans process – instead of faster production methods that often compromise the quality of the final product.  Their rice vinegars are made from scratch, using only select rice.  Their 100% naturally matured vinegar takes two months to produce, and the unequaled quality results from a combination of their experience – their brew master is 70 years old – and dedication to scientific improvements.  The faster processes can’t provide the same quality of vinegar as the slow and naturally brewed method.
